All Saint's and All Soul's Days has nothing to do with Christianity and therefore nothing Christian about them, not even remotely as "customs".
The Way that Jesus Christ and His Apostles (including Apostle Paul and excludes any one after him)taught us is the Way of living a meaningful and victorious life, Loving God and Loving Man.
Unsuperstitious, unpretentious, unfrivolous but realistic, real and meaningful is the life that Christ expects His disciples to live.
Men, being religious as he is, is fond of rituals and all these "customs" like Al Saint's, All Soul's, Lent, Christmas, Easter etc are all man-made and mostly incorporated from pre-Christian and most often pagan customs and practices.
What is the Way that Christ taught?
Simple.
His commandment was, "Go ye and make disciples of all nations and lo, I am with you till the end of the world".
A disciple of Christ has full liberty in the spirit.
He is not bound by any institutionalized rituals.
He need make no confession to anyone save to the only mediator between God the Father and Man: Jesus Christ himself.
He need make no further monetary, animal or human sacrifice to propitiate God, because Jesus Christ has made the final and perfect sacrifice for the sins of the world, past, present and future through His very own blood.
Emancipation is what Jesus Christ came to Earth for.
He came that we may be freed.
Freed not only from our bondage from sins and suffering, but freedom from any and every shackles that prevents us from loving God and loving Man in the full sense of the word, letter, spirit and meaning.
The continued practices of man made customs and rituals are old, recycled and new shackles we institute and continue to shackle ourselves in, so much so that we go through the motion of religion, experiencing the sensation but not realizing the fullness of the meaning of the relationship we have in Christ as a new creation out of the new born again life with Jesus Christ, our Lord.
It is time we throw away all encumbrances that impede us in having a true, meaningful and personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ did not come to start a new religion or a new institution. He came that we may have life and have it to the full: the abundant life.
To experience Christ is to experience the simplicity of God's love for us and in turn our love reciprocated to our fellow mankind.
All rituals and customs are secondary and actually quite frivolous and superfluous.
We just need to focus our otherwise divided attention and resources from all these meaningless rituals to loving Him and loving Man.
