Yes, most definitely! The Internet has become a way of life for many Gen X and Ys. Back in the 1994, when I was attending UCLA, the Internet was very limited. It was not until the Internet replaced libraries and became the sole source of update information did people started to flock to the net. I'm a perfect example of a user that has become addicted to the Internet. If there is ever anything I'd like to know, the Internet is the first place I would look. The term, "Google" it has been intertwined with our daily language and reflects the changes we all face in the Internet age. Not only does the Internet provide free information about everything, it also provides conveniences we never could have dream of 13 years ago. For a technology that only existed for a fairly short amount of time, it has become one of most pervasive technology to make it super glue grip on us. Anything that can be done in the real world can almost be done on the Internet these days. For those of us who grew up with the Internet, can you imagine if there were no Internet? As I sit here typing this post, I've litterally have been sitting at my desk since 8am (now it's 11pm). That's 13 hours of being online. That means that I've been online for about 76% of the time I've been awake. If that is not addiction, I don't know what you call it. I'm constantly online even if I don't have anything do to. I just sit here in front of my screen typing anything that pops into my mind to see if I can find out more about it. It's essentially an overload of information.
