Poetry: First date

Stomachs churning, heart is pounding
Shyly smiling,hope resounding
Ever growing panic nears
Mounting tension, mounting fears.

Awkward silence, shuffling feet
Choppy sentences, sense defeat
Glimpsing smiles and downcast eyes
A spark that catches by surprise.

A change in venue, laughter growing
Easy conversation sowing
Twinkling eyes and softer smiles
Longer gazes, butterfly trials

Walking, strolling, summer bliss
Entangled fingers, love's first kiss.
