Turning sixty is a time to celebrate sixty great years on this earth. Born in 1947 and still full of life so why not throw a great party to share with others. Whether you are planning a party for your spouse, relative or for yourself there are plenty of great ideas for older generations as well as the younger ones.

Think about what the sixty year old really likes whither it is an item that they have collected over the years or just something that they really like and plan the party theme around that. Or you can make the party even more special by asking all those who attend to write down one special memory of you and the honoree and then place them in a basket on the table. After cake and ice cream and all the presents are open, have the birthday gal or guy read each one out loud. This is sure to touch him or her and mean alot to them.

You can have hire a D.J. for the evening and play music from the past sixty years, or watch movies from the year that she/he was born and through the decades. Also you can decorate the party with pictures of the birthday gal or guy throughout the years. It is sure to get them to laugh looking at their past hair styles and clothing, as we all do!

You can choose to do the party at your home, their home, rent a space or throw it at their favorite restaurant or even at a karaoke bar. However you choose to celebrate the party make sure that it honors the person that you are throwing the party for. You can choose games that the person likes alot like charade's, or a questionnaire about the birthday person and have the guests try to answer questions about the honoree.

Serve the birthday persons favorite foods as well as the original veggie trays, chips and salsa or chips and dip for snacks. Think about what the birthday person really likes and try to have all of the items that are easy for you to serve available at the party so they feel special.

Just keep in mind that no matter how you celebrate their sixtieth birthday party keep them in thought at all times. Make sure that they are honored and they are sure to have a great time!
