The HPV vaccine has been linked to seizures, paralysis, and deaths. The truth of the matter is that the vaccine only benefits 1% of women, yet is now being legislated for all girls. There has been no long term testing done on the vaccine and it is only effective for a few years.
Human papillomavirus (HPV) occurs in many strains, some of which contribute to approximately 70% of instances of precancerous cell growth along the cervix. Cervical cancer is estimated to affect an estimated 10,000 women a year with an estimated 4,000 a year dying from it. A vaccine against four strains of HPV that are most closely associated with cervical cancer has been approved for use in girls as young as 9. The thought is that to vaccinate the girls before they have had sexual contact and have been exposed to HPV will protect them from cervical cancer. However, the vaccine is not used in sexually active women or past the age of 26. The vaccine wears off after about 4-5 years. So the women could technically still become infected in their 20s. Also, the vaccine is only effective against those particular strains, which are only responsible for a portion of cancer cases anyway. Pap smears are still needed yearly to check for abnormal cervical cells, yet many girls I have spoken with who have been vaccinated said they feel safe now and won't need them. People are not being educated properly about what the vaccine truly does and what it is actually protecting against. It is also not being used to target those at risk for cervical cancer, but is being legislated for all.
The UK recently announced plans to vaccinate all 12 year old girls. This has led to health reports being released about severe side effects of the vaccine that were previously ignored. Though no concrete connections have been made between the vaccine and the side effects, long term testing has also not been done on the vaccine to warrant the claim that it is 100% effective. Cervical cancer takes a decade to develop, the drug was in clinical trials for less than 6 years. The severe side effects include thousands of cases of seizures and paralysis, some reports of miscarriages, and at least 8 deaths. All in girls under the age of 20.
