There are a lot of factors involved in the arrival of a baby. Determining the right wording for a baby shower invitation depends on several of those factors. Mostly remember the shower is for Mom and or Dad.
Here are a few poems ideas for shower invites:
Religious:
God sent angels to a door
And said, get ready for one more
Lift your prayers up to heaven
Pray a happy home to fill.
With the laugh of one small babe
Share a happy moment's rain
Shower gifts on this new wonder.
Humorous:
Baby (girl/boy) arriving soon
Mom and Dad have need of loot
We want your gold and silver too
But, diapers, bottles and blankets will do.
Arrive with package under arm
Money card in hand allowed
Even bring a wealthy friend
But please do come and join our crowd.
Sentimental Secular:
Our friend is having a baby soon
Wants to share some time with you
We all hope to give this mother
A token of our love for another
So mostly what we ask you for
Are lovely memories that endure.
Already Born
Baby (Joe?) has come to us
And needs to meet his friends
We're having a little party
To share with him our plenty
Men and women both allowed
And little friends to great this child
We ask you please RSVP
Ah, yes' we hope your answer be.
Poetry for baby shower invites can be corny and full of rhyme or humor. Baby is the big draw, but Mom and Dad are the ones to please. Most parents like to keep a copy of the invitation in their baby's book or album. Think of the personalities of the parents and the people who will be receiving the invitation, and choose accordingly.
