Preventing fever blisters

Never say never... It is possible to flush any virus out of your body. Let's skip over the rhetoric and go straight to some possible options (because no one wants a lecture on herpes). Think about supporting your health, not treating symptoms or suppressing a virus. No good ever comes from suppressing anything unhealthy. When you look over the facts of what spurs an outbreak on you can find some valuable clues: stress, illness, lowered immune functions. These are all moments when your body, whether physically or mentally, is opening itself to potential illness by its natural healing abilities becoming imbalanced. Look for herbs that support the immune system and have anti-viral properties. Some of my favorites are garlic, burdock, juniper berry, yarrow, german chamomile, and st.john's wort. Anytime the immune system is compromised, be sure to also include herbs that support emotional well-being in your health plan. When we're happy, we heal faster. In addition, take account of your nutrition and evaluate whether or not it needs 'tweaking'.

Before taking any herbal supplement, do your research for proper amounts and any possible contraindications. Seek professional consultation if you still have questions. I listed herbs on here that characteristically have a high therapeutic margin (low potential for bad interactions) but that doesn't mean that you should blindly take any herb with out precaution and education. Other people have already done that for thousands of years so you don't have to!
