Travel: The cheapest ways to fly business class on international flights

deals tend to be for limited locations and dates, and many are on fee-for-membership sites.

Another alternative is economy plus seating, which many airlines now offer. Typically this is in its own section, costs somewhat more than coach but not nearly as much as business class, and offers a lot more leg room than regular coach. This can become particularly important on planes where the seats are so close together that the knees of even the shortest passengers are wedged into the seat in front of them.

Another useful strategy is to monitor the pricing of business class airline tickets over time both for your dates, and for earlier dates as well. You may be able to sense a pattern, and be able to determine the point at which the ticket will be priced at the lowest rate. Of course, this strategy entails some risk, both in terms of pricing and availability.

While research will help you get the most for your dollar, it is unlikely that you will find a business class seat for the huge discount you may be hoping for. However, the cost of flying business class varies from airline to airline, route to route and day to day. Research to determine the best airline and optimal time to buy your business class airline ticket will help keep the cost of the ticket down, and the rewards up.
