See that guy in the flash car? What does he do? How did he earn so much cash? Why, he administers your pension fund.
See that flash car he's driving and enjoying now? He's able to afford that because you've fallen hook line and sinker for the pensions scam.
You've listened to the scaremongering of the bigwigs have to say and even now you're wheeling not only the oils of big business but the wheels of their fast, shiny cars. The fast shiny car that you can't afford.
You give your money to his company for them to invest so you can get an income in 20-30 years time. Meanwhile his company makes huge profits from your money and the money of other's like you and give him a big fat bonus every year.
And there's still no guarantee you'll have any money in your pension at the end of it all.
Not that the investment manger is doing anything wrong. I mean, if people came to you and gave you their money would you say no? And that's just what you're doing, throwing your money at them. And, of course, the lap it up. Well, what do you expect?
So spend your money on what you want when you want it. It's a sad fact but you might not be around long enough to enjoy your retirement. Or maybe, in these volatile times, you might find that despite years and years of saving there's no pension after all
You wouldn't be the first, and sadly, you won't be the last. But at least you can do something about it.
