Christians created the Holiday known as All Hallows Eve, So why should they not celebrate it? It is the eve of All Saints Day a Christian holiday the same as Christmas Eve is the eve of Christmas another Christian Holiday. All Saints Day and it accompanying All Hallows Eve are victims of crass commercialism in the same way that Easter and Christmas have been except that the Christians have forgotten that they created the Holiday.
All Hallows Eve is a day for honoring the dead and the Saints and Martyrs not for celebrating death. According to New Advent Web pages Catholic Encyclopedia (http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/01315a.htm) "The vigil of the Feast [of all Saints Day] is popularly called "Hallowe'en" or "Halloween". This is a Christian Holiday and you are asking if Christians should celebrate it? You are calling it the devils day? You have fallen for the commercialization of your own holiday and don't even realize it.
Do Christians believe that Christmas is really about a Fat man in a bright red suit accompanied by elves on a sleigh drawn by flying reindeer delivering gifts to good children as a reward for good behavior and coal to bad children as a reminder to be good for next year? Do Christians believe that Easter is a time for a Giant Bunny dressed in bright colors to hide painted eggs for children to seek out? So why do so many believe that Halloween is a time for evil deeds, witches, devils, and spooks? Why do Christians find it so easy to allow the propaganda of crass commercialism to dictate their beliefs on this particular holiday?
Are you as a Christian saying that the Saints and Martyrs are not worthy of your honor? Are you as Christians saying that the dead are not worthy of honor? Are you saying that you are offended by your own religions holiday's? Please, if you can enlighten me as to how a Christian holiday can be evil and as such should not be celebrated by those who have created it? If Halloween is, as many Christians have asserted, a devil's holiday and a night of evil then the religion that created it must also be devilish and evil and that religion is Christianity.
In conclusion, I do not believe that Christianity is Evil. Halloween was created by the Christians as a Christian Holiday. For Christians to say it should not be celebrated because it is evil is ludicrous. Halloween is a victim of crass commercialism in the same way that Christmas and Easter are and to say other wise only shows your ignorance.
