Whether or not the record is legit or not is not the discussion of this matter. It's a question about now that he has the number surpassing Hank Aaron for the most Home Runs all-time, should he just try to play one more year or just simply hang it up. San Francisco will not be seeing Barry on their team, as he will be a free agent. It has been considered expected and Bonds is not quite happy with this. With the Federal Government after him especially during the BALCO scandal, he has become perhaps the center of controversy. There are some that do not consider him the true Home Run King due to him using steroids. The numbers are there but whether or not anyone wants to celebrate him is their own business and that's just it. He's only made 1 World Series Appearance in a series loss to the then Anaheim Angels.

His career has many milestones and has become ranked #1 on the all-time list in terms of Home Runs, walks, intentional walks, and MVPs and next season if he should happen to play will have a chance to set some new records with the doubles record and also joining the elite on the 3,000 hit club. 2008 could possibly be his last so it would be interesting to see if any team would pick him up. There are maybe 3 or 4 possible candidates and this by the way is based upon payroll and what type of money he'll demand even know it will be at an insane price.

New York Yankees-This is a no-brainer as they have the most money in baseball. His position would most likely be in the DH assuming he doesn't mind that. While Bonds isn't exactly the youngest player in the world, he could provide a bat that can get some hits provided that the other teams don't act wimpy and just walk him constantly. That doesn't guarantee he'll get a ring though since they haven't won in 7 years.

Boston Red Sox-They were the World Series champions and are probably the least likely to get him since they have a DH in "Big Papi" David Ortiz. Outside of that, he could play left field provided he stays healthy now. The odds of him going there are very unlikely.

LA Dodgers-The Giants rival possibly and his likelihood going there is possibly assuming he still wants to play in left field and has a place there. It could help with a bat but to tell you the truth, most of the time, he'll probably get walked. Personally, I hate the intentional walk but that'll be another story to discuss. The focus is mainly on Barry Bonds and that's it.

It's no doubt that Mr. Bonds has actually done very well in his career. Whether or not they all stay or an * appears on every spot he has as far as records is another story. Looking closely at it, there really isn't a whole lot Barry could do realistically. As far as the RBI record, he'll need to have a few 100+ RBI seasons to even have a shot at catching that and as far as the all-time hits record, that is going to be pretty much mission impossible. If he goes for a ring, it would be best to search for any team and keep his options open because any team can win the championship. Honestly, he should consider retirement because again there really isn't a whole lot can be accomplished and he'll still be under the radar by the federal government.
