It's the question that every man desires to have answered. How does one ask a complete stranger out on a date? The answer is simple - just know that they are not strangers, if you wish to meet them.
Allow me to explain. The only reason for people to treat you like a stranger is if you act like one. This is especially true of the opposite sex. Contrary to popular belief, one does not attract others by acting guarded and "mysterious." This will only serve to make people think you are scared of them. People are not interested in meeting frightened people. People are interested in meeting interesting people.
So how does one become interesting? You may be surprised that it has absolutely nothing to do with you. A truly interesting person is interested in everyone else. He is polite, but not timid. An interesting person will ask them how they are. He will not be going on about his expensive car or all the things that he thinks make him attractive. He will care for others with his natural charm and confidence. But what is confidence.
Ask any woman what she values most in a man and 9 times out of 10 she will say, "Confidence." Most of them neglect to mention what exactly they mean by that. Confidence is not acting like a jerk. Confidence, as far as dating goes, is doing what you want to do without worrying about what people will think. It is not about just getting what you want. Human relationships are about balance - it isn't about what you can get from them, it's about what you can give to each other.
When meeting a stranger, act as if you've known them all your life. Walk up with confidence. Say hello with a sincere smile. If you meet a person with a warm, expectant vibe, they will mirror that vibe right back to you. Greet them and just wait, with a smile on your face and your hand extended to meet theirs. Wait until they acknowledge you and take your hand. This will break the touch barrier and invest them into the conversation.
Talk to the person or people about the things that seem relevant. When you realize some aspect about them that you find attractive other than physical appearance - tell them so. Tell them that you find the way they laugh attractive. Tell her that the way her head leans to the side when she listens to you captures your attention and you'd really like to go out with them sometime. Do not say that you'd like to go somewhere "just as friends" if that's not really what you want. If you've found something about them that attracts you, have the confidence to tell them that you'd like to get to know them better.
These are just the very basics of meting someone. The most important point is to be genuine. Don't be dishonest. Most people can catch you in the act. Move with confidence, project a warm vibe, show genuine interest in the other person, and, be upfront about your intentions. Bonne chance.
