Lemons are everywhere. we use them in our tea, we use them as a garnish, and make lemonade with them. but did you know that they actually have health benefits? i didn't a while ago until i started doing some research and the results are amazing!
Lemons are a diuretic. this means that it can clean your insides out. so its good for anything from digestion problems to urinary problems. it helps get rid of bad bacteria and other things that our bodies do not need.
lemons can also help psychologically. they can calm nerves, help with depression, or just help us clear our minds. thats why when your stressed some people might offer you some lemon tea.
lemons used in the mornings with some water may even help clear out your liver. good news for people that drank the night before since it will even help calm a hangover.
there is a lot of vitamin C content in lemons as well. most people go to oranges as a source but the truth is that lemons are equal! this is important because vitamin C helps your immune system, and helps you get over being sick quicker.
In the older days some people even would use lemons as a light sunscreen!
in conclusion, besides makeing a lovely tea, or a pretty garnishment, lemons can do so much more. from cleaning you out to calming you down. so go out and make some lemonade today!
