They are windows that allow the conscious to peek into the deeply subconscious. They are doorways that lead from the spiritual realm to the physical realm. They are the mostly, unexplored dimension of an inter-universe that few may even bother to care about. Filled with mysteries and symbols, they are often regarded as lacking in importance. After all, in the eyes of many, a dream is just a dream - or is it?
Dreams have always played a very important part in my family, especially among the women on my maternal side. Through time and experience, we have discovered the validity of dreams, even while recognizing that not every dream is relevant. Dreams can be compared to telephone calls. Not all calls are important, however, some, without dispute are. A telephone call can originate from different sources, and so too can dreams. There are three main sources of dream origination: God, the devil, and one's own subconsciousness. The challenge is in determining which is which. Most dreams that we receive perhaps originate from our own subconsciousness. In such cases, the dreamer is left with the extra challenge of determining relevancy and meaning.
Because they are usually encoded messages, it is very easy to toss dreams aside as nonsense unless one has an interest in them and also have the keys to decode them. Some symbols have universal meanings while others are cultural and personal. Dreaming about one's first car, pet, or favorite dead aunt, satisfy personal relevance.
Dreams mostly concern the dreamer and can help him or her to come to terms with certain issues in his or her life by aiding in closure, decision making, and problem solving. Even the people we encounter in our dreams may simply be symbols that represent us in some way rather than the people themselves. If, for example, you dreamed that uncle Felix robbed a bank, this may not necessarily be a foreshadowing of what uncle Felix is about to do. It is also more than likely that the dream is not about Uncle Felix in the first place! First, you must check to see if there is any personal relevance that the symbol of a bank robbery may have in your life. Perhaps you may be going through a time of financial lack
