A Time of Thanksgiving

Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. Psalm 100:4

This time of year is my very favorite for many reasons - cozy, crisp/cool air, pumpkins, scarecrows, beautiful leaves, bright/brilliant colors, fires in the hearth, families gathering around tables, hearts turned to thanksgiving, and memories. Plus it's such an easy season to decorate for - autumn wreaths on the door; leaf garlands on the mantel, piano, porch railing; cornucopias with fruit on the table; potted mums on the porch, patio, sidewalk, driveway; scarecrows in the flower bed; and pumpkins everywhere.

This time of year is also when candles are most often burnt, giving a warm glow and sweet scent throughout the home. Candles are perfect memory builders because they evoke so many senses making a person feel warm and cozy. And they will want to sit around the fireplace sipping hot cider with no intentions of going anywhere. What a beautiful scene!
