Visiting New York City on a modest budget

Think of travel and the very first thing that comes to mind apart from safety, visas, passports, and packing, is the budget! Yes sorry my friend, I did say that horrid six letter word! My apologies, but it's so true, traveling often seems such a daunting experience, yet it doesn't need to be. With a few budget minded resources, you certainly can experience the delights of wonderful New York without robbing the bank.

Accommodation will be the first thing you need too think about, and if you don't mind sharing a shower with strangers, there are numerous cheap places to stay.( I do not mean "literally" share the shower, so don't start blushing! )There are quite a large number of hostels available for you to choose from. You will have all the facilities you need at a very economic price. Besides, why worry about luxury when you will be out on the town most of the time?

America Dream Hostel which is one of the best, is located at east 24th street, the hostel consists of dormitory beds as well as private rooms which range in price from $40-$148 per night. This includes breakfast as well, so it certainly will save you money in the long run. What a bargain! Linen and towels are also supplied. A word of caution though, always keeps an eye on your belongings no matter where you go. Don't tempt thieves!
These are very comfortable and clean, with very courteous staff.

Big Apple Hostels also have hostel style dormitory beds as well as private rooms, their rates are between $30 $80 per night, this depends on the season and what's available. This includes linen but not towels. Don't forget to pack some towels or you will need to drip dry! They offer single genre or co - ed accommodation. This is a very clean and friendly hostel indeed. On-line reservations are available.

Central Park Hostel is located on 103rd street very near to Central Park, dormitory bed, private rooms from as little as $26-$36 per person. Linen, blankets, towels and lockers are included .The best value of the lot so far! Don't forget your foreign passport or international ID for check-in!

Now we shall steer away from the accommodation, and now seek out some budget minded activities/ sightseeing for you. If you are like me, you will definitely wish to visit the theater. Do not fear, I know you're thinking of the cost, but did you know that there are so many on-line sites to visit who offer wonderful discounts?

THEATRE MANIA: (TheaterMania.com ) Is one of them, and I must say it's
