The Summer I first me you,
My true love from that beach,
Sitting with your buddies,
You seemed so out of reach.
Over at you I would look,
Trying to glimpse you all alone,
And those few times our eyes connected,
I could feel my love for you grow.
For weeks we kept this up,
Staring secretly at each other,
Wondering when we'd have the chance,
To be with one another.
The day I had been waiting for,
Had finally come to light,
You walked over to my towel,
And asked me for a date that night.
You took me to the beach,
And showed me our special place,
Your kisses were so tender,
And your hand gentle on my face.
The Summer came and went,
And the love we felt grew stronger,
The first day of Autumn came,
And I thought that we would sunder.
You took my hand and held me close,
When I told you of my fears,
And said to me in your beautiful voice,
I will be with you for years.
You took me on a picnic,
And we sat under the tree,
We watched the leaves fall around us,
And you told me you loved me.
The first time that you said it,
I was so close to tears,
I held your face and kissed you deep,
I love you too, my dear.
One night we were together,
And the leaves no longer fell,
I looked you in the eyes and said,
We'll survive the Winter as well.
The days and nights grew colder,
And you'd cuddle close to me,
Hug me tight and kiss me deep,
You asked are you ready to be with me.
I was scared and frightened,
Afraid of what was to come,
But I loved you more than anything,
And so I said I would succumb.
You took me to our place on the beach,
Knowing no one would be there,
Hidden by the rocks and shrubs,
You entered me with care.
Afterwards I looked over at you,
As we lay panting on the floor,
You kissed me softly on my lips,
And said I love you more and more.
Warmer nights soon replaced the cold,
Winter was coming to and close,
But Spring was soon to flourish,
And our love for it would pose.
We spent the days together,
Beneath the garden bed,
H turned to me and smiled
As he picked a rose for me so red.
It represents my love for you,
My heart is yours he said,
I took it from his hands and smiled,
Then kissed him gently on the head.
Our love was strong and it survived,
The seasons I thought it never would,
He stayed with me forever,
And I never thought he would.
