To me the only word to describe sweets would be Cadburys. My father would only allow us to have what he called the 'best' a man could buy. My Uncle John worked at the Cadburys factory and he always brought home the chocolate mis-shapes and especially the chocolate cream eggs in a browny yellowy bag. We realised he visited every weekend and felt spoilt for having such a luxury in the 1960's when money was tight and dad worked hard to keep seven of us. My gran always had the biggest, and I mean biggest, box of Cadburys Milk Tray given as a special treat on her birthday every year from my Uncle and she would always say to the five of us "I wonder who is going to have just one sweet each out of my special box". She meant it too as we only had just the one, there seemed dozens in there so the rest must have been for herself. The centres would melt in your mouth and I can still taste the strawberry one now just thinking about it. Mind you I was very fond of the nutty sweets also and the rest of the family did not like them so there were more for me, yum yum. The Cadburys bars were much bigger in those days and tasted better and I think nowadays there seems to be more fat or some sort of oil in them. Could be the wrapping that changes the taste in my opinion. I will definitely be giving my children Cadburys bars and hopefully my grandchildren and so will be passing the Cadburys sweet tooth on and on in the family.
