Maybe you don't know where you are going to be in 5 years, but what you should know is WHERE DO YOU WANT TO BE IN 5 YEARS!
That's the main purpose of Strategic Planning.
Strategic Planning is about three questions:
1.- WHERE DO YOU WANT TO BE? (VISION)
2.- WHERE ARE YOU NOW? (CURRENT SITUATION)
3.- HOW TO NARROW THAT BREACH? (STRATEGIC PLAN)
The VISION is the easiest part of the process, because almost everybody desires something, so write it down and that's it. For the next two questions there are well defined techniques like S.W.O.T. to determine your CURRENT SITUATION or many plan schemes to define your STRATEGIC PLAN.
Strategic Planning is not only for huge organizations, enterprises, small businesses, etc.; but for you as an individual who wants to achieve success in your life.
WHAT ARE YOU DOING NOW? WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE DOING? - WHO ARE YOU? WHO YOU'D LIKE TO BE? WHO ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO BE?
Search for "Strategic Planning" at any search engine and lots of useful information will appear. I could help you with documentation and guidelines to develop your own STRATEGIC PLAN.
