Hey! How about reflecting on motherhood from a males point of view? After all, what's the difference between a father and a mother besides stereotypes and social genre classifications or roles?
Anyway, I became a mother when I was 14 years old. You see my sister was pregnant at age 16 and I went through all the aches, pains, nauseas and vomiting. I was even present in the operating room when the yells and pushing all began. Hey, I was darned scared of becoming what I still didn't know I'd become till I became a mom!
I gave him the bottle of milk, learned to clean him up without using toilet paper, change his pamper and burped him without taking his lungs out at of a hard slap on the back! I even stood half asleep some nights attending to his cries of hunger. Hell! I was the one who's face got peed on!
So you see just as fatherhood has nothing to do with being a man, motherhood has nothing to do with being a woman. Life is full of surprises. No one knows when the time will reach them when they become a mother or father. The important part of being either is being able to accept you're about to get into a BIG MESS! That you're going to go through "motherhood" or if you prefer "fatherhood" sometime in your life whether you want it or not, and it would be better that you should want it, if you would have to go through it and that you'd be prepared, for your own sake and God help the child who's hands are put upon him and God help the mother who's face gets peed on! Anyway, being a mother (or father) is the greatest feeling of all.
