Dangers of business ads for at-home work

by iliakim

There are dangers in answering business ads for work at home. As many said, there are many scams out there in the online businesses advertised.

But I would like to add, it is not only business ads for work at home that are dangerous. There are also people who write to you personally and offer some work at home jobs, ask your resume and tells you to open your instant message for interview and briefing.

I had recently fall victim to this scam. They don't ask money from you, instead they will send you the money to start your business, but lo and behold, this "supposed" money in a money order form, is not for your mini office as instructed but for people whose addresses they provide. People who they said will send you the data you need for your work.

If you don't send the money to these addresses, they let you feel that you're playing games with them. And there is a time constraint. You will think, at first that it's just a test, but eventually, you see that you don't have money left for your supposed office. What is more disappointing is, the money order turns out to be fake. So you're just using your own money for their operations. They got the money and you have none.

And they are using names of legitimate sounding companies. The question is: How do we really know the businesses that are legitimate in the internet? Is there some way that we can check at once the legitimacy of businesses people offer as fronts? What are the links to follow?
