Yes soldiers should be allowed to opt out of wars that they disagree with. I understand that it is a soldier's job to defend the nation and most of them are up for that task. But what about when it comes to a combat that starts as defending the nation and turns into something else. I'll use the war going on in Iraq now. It started after the September 11th attacks and was intended to stop terrorism. It was good reason in many ways at the start to many people, but it the war turned into an act of terrorism by us when innocent civilians by the thousands started to die and stories of torture and abuse started to come out. Is also known fact that we are not wanted over there and the reason the attacks on the states came about were because of the Western world pushing their society on other society's that don't want it. Yes, to us, it may seem like a bad way to love over there, but they need to find there own way. There are people suffering on the streets of America. People who homeless. People who don't have enough money to out food on their tables. People who victims of crime that is running wild on the streets of this supposed developed country! But no one is there to help these people. We send troops over to another country to fight their battles. I may be misinformed, but this is what it all looks like to me and the media does not do a good job of getting the stories out the right way and I don't trust everything I hear. I do know that there is some pretty bad things going on, and a lot of people are beginning to feel this way. If someone is in the army and want to fight, that's fine. There are just as many who want to fight who can take the places of those who don't want to. No one should have to do something that they are against morally, religiously or otherwise.
