quality meets production standards. Today, other drugs are the subjects for gun battles over turf for distribution. To me, it seems we might have a better chance to address society's problems with drugs if addicts weren't kept so far underground that they resort to 'any means necessary' to feed their addictions. As a matter of course, though, it would only change who is making the huge profits in drug sales.
Most Libertarians shudder at the thought of honoring union rights, but unions were important in the progression of worker's rights. Before unions, it was 'good business' to pay for some funerals than to provide safe working conditions. To me, it seems contrary to libertarian philosophy to tell workers they cannot organize, except, however, to the degree that the organization does not intimidate a willing workforce merely to force unreasonable terms upon the employer.
I believe that if we were to eliminate all government control over all aspects of all businesses and trades, ultimately we would only be creating the need for control over some aspects of businesses and trades. If we do not provide for the basic needs for people through more than only charity, we will only be creating the mass of needy that would need elimination lest they violently revolt.
