As physical attributes go, beauty is not a particularly bad one to possess, but does a pretty face constitute goodness or true beauty?
A few women who accepted a ride from notorious serial killer, Ted Bundy, thought so. They, unfortunately, no longer walk among us. A truly brave woman that managed to escape his murderous grip, later stated that she took a ride from him because she trusted his "cute face". She never once considered that a monster hid behind the gleaming smile. She had no idea that a twisted, evil madman, capable of unspeakable cruelty, lurked behind Bundy's handsome exterior shell. Her mistake was to trust completely what she saw with her eyes, and she made judgment on face value, so to speak.
Like these women, at one time or another, we all tend to make the mistake of relying on surface impressions, but we are spared these dire consequences. We all know a guy who has fallen head over heels in love with the "woman of his dreams" type of gal. He looks at her, and he loses his mind. He fails to notice anything else but her external package.

Just by walking into a room, a gorgeous woman can cast a spell over him that lasers a hole deep into his optic nerve center, rendering him incapable of sound reason. It isn't until later, after the glitter fades, a real conflict emerges and a disturbing unfamiliar reality sets in. He one day awakens to the truth that his beautiful princess has turned into a Sea Hag Witch. Yes, she's still got the same pretty face and hot body, but he senses that something is not quite right. The poor guy becomes acutely aware that a personality exists under the fluff of his fantasy that he never seemed to notice before. The mirror cracks and his dream girl loses her shine. Suddenly, she doesn't seem that hot after all. By then, he's in too deep, and he's wondering how and when she turned into such an incredible scag! Hopefully, he sees his role in the unfortunate mismatch, and he thereafter treads more carefully.
What are we to do about our tendency to rely on our visual impressions? We are, by our gift of sight, visual creatures. We notice among us beautiful people all the time because we see first with our eyes when drawing first impressions. This is just how we are built, and we can't help it.
But, does our innate need to interpret external visual
