Poetry: Following your heart

My heart says to go after you but
my head says to leave you alone.
I feel myself slipping away.
It's been way too long since
I've heard your voice, way too long
since I've heard from you at all.
You were a part of my heart,
a part of my life
and now you are gone.
I can't imagine living the rest
of my life without you but
I know it's what I have to do.
My heart wants to give it one more try.
It still skips a beat everytime
I remember looking into your eyes.
My head says to leave you alone.
From what I hear you are happy without me
I know I should, but my heart just can't let it be.
