Rain, rain, go away: Best indoor games for kids

When the weather turns cold and rainy, kids need an outlet for all that energy they accumulate. We all know what happens when they don't have that outlet. Things get stressed for you and that will in turn transmit to them and everything escalates from there. Here are some great indoor games for kids to get rid of all that excess energy. These games would be perfect for birthdays, sleep overs or any event with lots of children.

Score a goal
You will need a round balloon and a long balloon for each player along with a box. Make sure that each players balloons are different colors. Place the boxes close enough that the balloons will be able to reach the box when hit. Have each child take their long bat and hit the round bat into their box. The first player to get their "ball" into the box wins.

Shot Put
Put a ping-pong ball on the edge of a table. Blindfold players one at a time and turn the player so that their back is against the table. At the command, the player takes 5 steps forward, turns around 3 times, comes back to the table and tries to blow the ball off the table. This is funny to watch because the player will most likely be disoriented and try to blow the ball off table where the ball is not.

Discover a planet
For this you will need balloons and felt tip markers. Each player is asked to discover a new planet by blowing up their balloon as soon as possible. They must inhabit their new world by drawing as many people on their balloon as possible within a time limit. The player with the most people on their new world wins.

Pass the stick
A dowel is needed for this game. Have children divide into equal teams and give a dowel to the child at the front of each team. The trick to this game is that the dowel has to be passed down the row of their team by taking the dowel with their left arm only. No hands are allowed. They must take the dowel under the left arm and pass it along in the same way. The first team to get their dowel to the end of the line wins.

Fastest Sewer
For this game you need 2 teams. The 2 teams must sew their team mates together as quickly as possible. A spoon with long yarn, thread, twine or whatever you have handy tied to the handle is used for the needle. Players can be sewed to each other be the belts, straps or loops on the clothes. First team to be sewed together wins.
