Were any of us ready for the challenges that were ahead of us as kids? Who is ready? Sure we can prepare, study, get ourselves fit but that doesn't mean we're ready. It means we're prepared. Big difference.
The youths of today get a bad rap. Born of the Generation Y, these kids today are given no credit for what they have and might possibly achieve. Lack of respect. Doesn't listen to authority. Aren't as smart as kids from years ago. We were so much better prepared than the youth of today. We wanted to learn. We listened to our parents and other authority figures.

And these burnt out, mental abused, under educated hippies turned into our parents. Just like the racist, ignorant, hardly literate parents before them. If we aren't ready for the challenges let's put the blame firmly on the petrulli soaked shoulders of our hippie parents, poodle skirt wearing communist hating grandparents, and our ragged, un-American great grandparents.
Kids burnt draft cards. They experimented with illegal and illicit drugs. They drank. They drove. Teenagers got pregnant and teenagers ran away from home. What was being learned in science class would get you laughed out of school.
Kids of today are learning complex mathematics. Cutting
