I've been pregnant twice and both times I gained thirty pounds. I craved healthy foods with our first child. In fact I was eating so well that my hair and my skin never looked better. With our second child, I knew I was having a girl because my cravings were so intense every day for chocolate.
During my second pregnancy I lived for chocolate. The cravings were so bad, that we rarely had chocolate in the house because I had eaten it all. I was even drinking chocolate syrup straight from the container. I was like a junkie looking for my first fix of the morning every day. It was so strange because I was always the girl that didn't want to eat chocolate. At Easter time I would let that huge chocolate Easter Bunny sit in the basket until my Mother would throw it out.
I practically would knock down my husband and son to get to the kitchen every morning in my quest for chocolate. I was keeping chocolate bars by the bed every night, because I had to have them. When my husband would hear that tell tale crinkle when we went to bed at night he would say, "You're going to rot your teeth out, so cut it out,"
At this time my son was in cub scouts, and we had to sell candy bars to raise money for the troop. We didn't have to sell any candy bars in our neighborhood that year. The girl who lived next door came to our door one day around the time my candy bar fix was just disappearing. When I opened the door to our neighbor standing there with an entire box of candy in her hands, I actually said," Thank God you're here. I just ran out. I'll take the whole box."
I had to brush my teeth so many times a day. I was actually wearing them down. I had horrible heartburn almost every night. (Gee, I wonder why?) I walked a mile every day, because if I didn't I would have been the size of a house at the end of my pregnancy. But, with all the chocolate and Pepsi I was consuming, I could have walked ten miles a day.
With my first pregnancy, I only wanted to eat healthy foods. My husband made my lunch every day. He would give me carrot sticks, celery sticks, an apple and a healthy sandwichand no junk. Up till this point my lunch every day had been a cheeseburger and a coke from one of the local fast food places.
Every Saturday when I was off from work, I made my husband go to McDonalds for a cheeseburger happy meal. I had to have it. Even if I just ate breakfast. By ten in the morning, I was having cravings so bad that I would follow him around the house giving
