to avoid the use of any other products produced using animals: shoes accessories and clothing made with fabrics such as leather and silk, soaps that are made with animal fat, animal tested products such as cosmetics, a wide variety of alcohols which contain animal oils or enzymes, soft drinks containing red 40, and a great deal more. A vegan diet doesn't generally present many health benefits because the only nutrition attained comes from plants.
The diet of a Fruititarian is made up of nuts, fruit and vegetable fruits. While the fruititarian is based upon the belief in consuming only what will regenerate the body, it can bring many health defects. Unfortunately, the fruititarian diet is also very common among people with eating disorders because of the tremendous amount of weight loss endured while following it.
The Pescetarian diet, often associated with the Mediterranean diet, is a vegetarian diet that does not exclude fish; pescetarians eat dairy and egg products but avoid other meats and meat products in exception to eggs. Those who choose to follow the pescetarian diet usually do it for health purposes, being that the heath benefits obtained from it are so remarkable that it makes it the healthiest diet one can follow. Ethical reasons draw in pescetarians as well, being that many sea creatures don't have the ability to feel excessive amounts of pain.
Pollotarians generally follow a ovo-lacto vegetarian diet, yet they consume poultry. Pollotarians are typically rather failed ovo-lacto vegetarians, or people who refuse to eat red meat for health purposes. While pollotarians claim to have ethical beliefs, none heard of are proven or even somewhat rational. The main ethical argument of a pollotarian is that since chickens are less intellectual than most other animals, it's okay to slaughter and eat them. While this argument has nothing to back it up, it remains used by countless numbers of pollotarians.
Flexitarians, or semi-vegetarians, eat meat on occasion, but usually stick to a vegetarian based diet. Flexitarians obtain basically the same benefits as sectarians and proletarians do and often only eat meat for social purposes.
Macrobiotic vegetarian diet consists mainly of whole wheat grains such as brown rice, breads and beans. Fruit, fish, vegetables and nuts are consumed in moderation, and everything else is prohibited. "The main purposes of macrobiotic vegetarians are gaining the balance between nutrition perceived as ying and yang (positive and negative)" SYL.com explains.
There are tons of different forms of vegetarianism. The health benefits and beliefs behind these diets are countless and have truly had a remarkable impact on the world. While some of these diets may seem extreme to some, they are very common or even encouraged by others. It's just something to consider, and who knows, perhaps the ever so common "Vegetarians don't eat meat at all right?" question will eventually turn into a methodically though-out "So what kind of vegetarian are you?"
