"Vegetarians dont eat any meat at all right?" This seems like an everyday question for the growing numbers of vegetarians in the United States. Few people realize that there are different kinds of vegetarian diets. All of these diets have foods they prohibit or encourage, and all are also common amongst different people hoisting a wide range of beliefs about the health benefits of the food they eat, and where that food should come from. These ancient to modern "diet trends", ethical as well as religious beliefs and beneficial reasoning's have introduced many different kinds of vegetarian diets to the world such as: Ovo-lacto vegetarian, lacto vegetarian, ovo vegetarianism, pescetarian, pollotarian, macrobionic, fruititarian, and flexitarian.
One of the most popular forms of vegetarianism is ovo-lacto vegetarianism. Ovo-lacto vegetarian, also known as "eggitarians", eat eggs but not meat or dairy products. Ovo-lacto vegetarianism is second of the most healthy vegetarian diet plans that's out there right now; it doesn't deprive the vegetarian of any available health benefits. "Vegetarianism has gained acceptance as a practice that lowers one's risk for the "diseases of affluence," e.g., high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, and certain cancers," states C. Spencer in his publishing A History of Vegetarianism.
Lacto-vegetarians don't eat meat, gelatin, specific cheeses or egg products, but do include most dairy products in their diets. These kinds of vegetarians are equally motivated by the diets health benefits and by ethical reasons, it is also known to be widely held among middle eastern religious groups. The benefits of a lacto-vegetarian diet are generally the same as an ovo-lacto vegetarian diet, except that those who are lacto-vegetarians often consume less protein by banning the consumption of eggs and egg products.
Ovo vegetarians eat eggs but avoid the consumption of dairy products. Ovo-vegetarianism is often picked up for digestive purposes such as lactose intolerance, but is often attained by ethical beliefs as well. Ethically, these vegetarians don't believe in using cows for the production of dairy products-not only because it's unnatural, but also because cows milk is thought to be produced for cows; not for human consumption.
The extensively critiqued Vegans are probably more strict than any other vegetarian. Those following a vegan diet not only avoid all egg, milk, and dairy, but also avoid any product they are used
