When you are creating a fictional world, be as descriptive as possible. Make sure you add the color and texture of every object. You are trying to make the reader see, smell, taste, hear and/or touch whatever it is you are describing. For example, if you are creating a young boy walking through a field with high grass to get home after school. Use as many descriptive words as possible. The young boy with his sandy blond hair flopping in his pale white face, is walking through a field with high bright green weeds brushing against his shins just below his faded blue jean shorts. The smell of pollen in the air as the sun hits the field directly in front of him. He can hear the sound of birds chirping in the distance. A ten point buck stands of to his left side as he strolls through the field determined to reach home. His big, hardback books in his left hand, while he plays with his fighter-jet model airplane in his right. Flying it around in circles while imitating the sounds he once hear on a class field trip to the local military base. Creating a fictional world is something that is generated from the point of view of the writer and is interpreted by the reader. With more descriptions of what the writer writes, the more the reader can imagine.
