Count your blessings twice!

We all want what we can't have at one time or another. What we need to "want" is what we have, as little as this may be, because we can lose it and have nothing. Some of us find that we end up loosing it all anyways and then what? What do we dare to wish for? What do we dare to believe? Our blessings have been robbed from us, like dandelions in the wind. Our lives changed forever. We now pray for more blessings to come our way, and wait. And wait. We wait.

Some lose faith in this waiting process. Faith formally trusted in God, within themselves, in blessings. Some become stronger. Their faith blossoms and they know that angels walk with them. New dandelions are in bloom. It is only a matter of time before good things come their way.

These are the ones I look to for strength, on days to which all I see is a naked dandelion stem. As I know that I may lose the home I live in, I am still blessed with hands that painted it. I am still blessed with the eyes to which gave me the vision to design it. I am blessed with legs and arms to clean it. And even if I lose my home, I still have these blessings. There are so many blessings that we have that are so simple, yet if our sight were taken from us, it wouldn't be that simple after all would it?

"Things" in life are replaceable. Sometimes people are as well, as hard as this may be to accept. I have lost a husband or two. Dare I dream about husband number three? I think I do. And he will be a blessing that I will never stop counting, once I am blessed with him gracing my life.

I'm not a religious person. And I have denied Christ a time or two in times of personal pain. But when I close my eyes, I can see him on that cross...and in his ultimate sacrifice for me, the least that I can do for him, is to count the blessings that he has given to me. So I won't just count them once or twice, I won't ever stop counting them. Not until all of the dandelions of the world are free of the wind.
