It's not a secret that business class feels better. The question is how to get there without emptying your pockets completely. Use the following tips to learn how to get that ticket to comfortable journey for less money.
1. Visit an online consolidator to quickly observe the list of airlines flying to the destination you need, their prices and available discounts. Check out www.travelocity.com if you travel from the US, for example. Just enter your criteria and you will get a list of available airlines, along with prices. You can find good deals there, including lower prices for business class tickets.
2. List your priorities and compare business class advantages on different airlines. If you don't really want a massager built in your seat and email facilities during the flight, you may decide to choose something simpler than Emirates airlines and save a thousand or two, while still getting what you want more space and fully reclining seats.
3. Find out which carriers the airline uses. You probably want a comfortable business class for a lower price. Not a kind of business class where the only advantage you get is a couple of inches more in front of your seat than economy class. The newer and the bigger the carrier, the more chances that you will have better value for money - more space and better amenities.
4. Bookmark the official websites of airlines that suited your criteria and keep checking them for any discounts and promotions. Once in a while international airlines offer special packages and bonuses, especially for holidays. These may include special getaway offers or lower prices for business and first class tickets. Simply subscribe to the newsletters and you will be one of the first people to know.
5. Consider ordering your tickets online when there is an option, because travel agencies will charge you higher (they need to cover labor costs etc.).
6. Check the airlines for frequent flyer programs and study them carefully. These travel awards programs offer bonuses and discounts to people who fly certain distances the more miles you fly, the more benefits you get. These benefits include discounts on air tickets, ticket upgrades, hotel discounts and many others, depending on airline. It costs nothing to join and if you have to travel couple of times a year anyway you will receive bonuses even quicker.
7. Examine the partners of the airlines you've chosen. It may happen that your primary airline doesn't fly to one particular destination you need. In this case you may check its partners. Their frequent flyer programs are shared, so you will still be able to enjoy free updates or discounts on tickets.
8. Try to book your ticket early. As early as 2 months before the departure date, because it will most probably be cheaper. Go on to an airline's website and check the prices of tickets for the next week flight and for the same flight in 2 months. Notice the difference.
9. Get the tickets late, if you don't mind taking risk. Airlines want to sell as many seats as they can, so if the flight you need is not fully booked you may get a very cheap business class ticket just a day or two before the flight. Of course, it only works if you know that the flight will not be fully booked.
Now you know how simple it is to make your next trip cheaper and more comfortable use these tips and have a bon voyage!
