Stuff and Things
There's things on my stuff! Look! See?
Things on my stuff do not amuse me!
They dangle and dingle and mingle with glee
The things on my stuff had better get free!
I tried to move my stuff from the floor
Pulled them high and tied with chain to the door-
Oh what a chore!
But wouldn't you know it the things they remained
Must have grown wings or crawled up the chain.
And now what? The things-they gain!
Now two things time two things would seem to be nine
On top of my stuff they wine and they dine
Fornication no doubt, takes place all the time
But tired of being a guest at this dinner
I long to return this room to a shimmer
A sacrifice must be made if it is to be trimmer
So it's out with the things and down with the stuff
This separation will no doubt be rough
Best to close my eyes and push with a huff
Out! Out the door it all goes,
and through the window it flows
So that nothing but white walls and floor remain
And I vow to never again be the same
I'm done! I'm done with this game!
And I slam the door with a bang!
Joyous and triumphantly sane!
And then comes a knocka tiny clenched fist?
I barely hear itmy senses resist
But louder and louder it grows
I can't ignore it, it puts me in throes
With my toe I kick open the door
And there on the floor
My stuff and my things will not be ignored!
