Whether stormy and wild tossing waves high into the air or calm and lanquid as they gulls circle overhead and scan the horizon for snacks. The shoreline is a place where life seems pretty good for a while. The cares drop off my shoulders as I approach the sand only returning as I load up and drive reluctantly away. Even a short jog to the shore to jump in the waves and splash with my children revives my spirit in indescribable ways. I would have a hard time surviving without some time at the beach to recover in the vast world of God's great outdoors.

It is soothing and comforting to be in a surrounding which requires nothing of consequence of me. I feel at once small and yet great in that setting. The beach is a winner whenever it is time for summer. The often present wind revives as so dips in the water. There are lots of sites and scenes to explore and file away in my memory.

And who doesn't agree that the sunsetting over a body of water or rising over the same body is a site sure to cause oohs and ahhhs to escape from even the most burned out and bummed out. It is relaxing to the max to have an opportunity to view the lake,stroll through the sand build a sand castle or perhaps do some stone or shell collecting.

Many a romance has started or been fed at the lakeside as a couple strolled hand in hand along the shore and troubles were replaced with happy talk of tomorrows. Or has been revived as an older couple took the time to relax and revive looking deep into each other's hearts and souls with the aid to the shoreline and the soothing sounds of the lake lapping at their toes.

For a summer vacation my recommendation would always have to be head to the shore. It doesn't matter the size or span of the shoreline. When summer begins to sizzle a trip to the water is the way to rekindle and rejoice.
