Teaching kids time management

What do you remember when you were kids? Had fun everyday with friends and never had time to study or had no fun everyday with friends and used to always study at home every day? well, that's only our past moment. We're going back to the present. Today, kids lifestyle become worst than our lifestyle when we were kids. Have fun with friends, go to the mall after school, play basketball, have full extracurricular at school, watch movie at theater, play games on computer, and any other activities every day. Kids fill their life with a lot of activities.

They have a lot of activities everyday but they cannot manage when they have to study and when they have to play outside home. After school, they still don't want to go home first but they hang out with friends or play basketball or many more activities. After they are tired then they go home to take a bath, have dinner, and continue their activity play games on computer, after that they go to sleep until next morning. They do it every day.
Actually, they really enjoy it. We also don't want to limit their activities. Until we get report card at the end of the year, we see a lot of bad grades written on the report card. Shock? Yes, we get shock. After that what we do is get angry with them
Avoid them from having bad grades by limit their activities might be the right choices but we as parent can teach them how to manage their time so they can have activities beside they have to study. First, we have to teach them which activities they have to choose as priority and which activities they don't have to do. Also, limit their time outside home after school until four o'clock or five o'clock because they need rest to have more concentration on study at home. Teach them to don't forget to have tome to eat because having activities need a lot of power. Make sure you teach them that every day they have to study for one-two hours after dinner because study is more important for kids future. Teach them to always go to sleep at least when the time already show at ten o'clock.
Teaching kids to manage their time doesn't means we're overprotected to them. At first time, it must be so hard to teach them but slowly they can be more understand how important to manage their time for themselves. Don't forget to teach them step by step. By teaching their time management, they will feel that their life will be more discipline.
