How can this be accepted, when the bible does not. It appears to be hypocritical to me. You can either except it or not. It can't be both ways. So if the church intends to follow the bible, then they may not have a gay bishop. Regardless of how you feel about their sexual orientation.

Although, issues like this have come up all through history and each time a new church/religion is created. People believe that if they don't like the rules they can make the rules fit them. They just can not grasp the concept that the rules are not human made. A perfect example is Martin Luther did not like what the bible said and how it was followed in the Catholic Church. So he changed the items he didn't like and now we have Lutherns.

This is terrible to faith based people, but we are taught that we are not to judge and to love one another. With those things in mind, we must hold fast to the truth and pray that what is right will eventually be. Throwing our stones will not help anyone. But praying for them to be in God's light and for us to have compassion in God's light we will all be better off.
