home computer can be your easiest method of reaching a larger audience. Free social networking sites such as www.myspace.com, www.youtube.com and www.facebook.com allow for amazing free marketing of your products. Blogging is yet another outlet to get the word out about the uniqueness of your product and sites such as www.squidoo.com and www.blogger.com have a very easy to use "set up" even for first time bloggers.
Local craft and trade fairs are another excellent way to get the word out about your home based business. Table rates are usually quite reasonable, keep a lot of business cards and brochures available to hand out as this will send your information home with them. If you can afford it create small freebies such as knitted key chains, tiny teddy bears, calenders, or small note pads which bear your business title and address or phone number. Remember that staying with them keeps you and your product visible long after the trade show ends. Small items can cost as little as ten to fifty cents to create and can be advertising that lasts for years to come. A great investment when you think of the amount of marketing per dollar invested.
As in all aspects of business, know what you have to lose, and know what you have to gain by each area of marketing that you enter into. Be creative and your marketing strategies will remain at a minimal cost for a maximum amount of advertising. Keep in mind that you want your advertising to stay with the people you are trying to communicate it to. Devise your marketing strategies to accomplish this, and for as long as you have a card, freebie or brochure sitting where someone can see it, you will have yet another opportunity for a future sale.
