Multiple personalities and the roles they play within the same person

by Delmar Preston

Created on: October 28, 2007

I am described as Bi-Polar/Manic Depressive with Multiple Personality disorder. I can not remember being any other way.
My childhood was abusive and cut off from society. I did not grow up with friends or go to parties or leave home except for once a week to go grocery shopping. Then I sat in the car and babysat my retarded sister and protected her from the people coming by.

My first personality came out at the age of six. We were asked to move from the community we had lived all of our lives in because my sister was retarded and the neighbors didn't want their children to 'catch it'. We were shunned for the months before we were able to move.
I decided to become 'Bill' a new boy on the block. I changed the way I dressed and tried to change the way I talked. I acted different and played differently. In a short time I was Bill outside and myself in the house. I grew to 'forget' Bill and thought that the days were going very fast. One minute it was eight o'clock and then it was four in the afternoon. I had no idea what happened in between. My parents demanded I act a certain way at home and I did.
Bill is still six years old and only comes out when I am very happy and I let the rest of myself go. It is very seldom, once or twice a year. I am told that I turn into a six foot two inch child, with a child like voice. I am curious about everything, and a very limited attention span, less than a minute.
My second personality came out in high school. I had no idea how to socialize with others and spent most of my time throwing up. I had a breakdown one day and the next thing I know I am on the bus to go home.
I started missing parts of days, not remembering classes or assignments but keeping a straight A average. I would go into a classroom and see a test on the board and freak out for a minute and then I was in another class, didn't find out what I made on the test until the next day. I didn't know what the test was about!
I had some subjects I did not need assistance with and I didn't miss any time. I have a higher than normal I.Q. and I thought high school was a joke. I always did my homework in the textbook, the first two weeks of school, for all of my classes.
I am a very peaceful person, I hate to fight for any reason. I had an incident at thirteen with two older boys being bully's to me and my twin brother. I remember hearing my brother scream and them I was standing by a deputy and my mother in the road and the deputy was asking me what happened. I didn't know
