Her Testimony

Deep in her heart she could feel the end was near. However, the sacrament of marriage meant everything to her, and she was not willing to give up on hers. After all these years his last words spoken to her still cut like a knife piercing her soul, "I hope I never see you again!" Little did he know that his wish would come true and was just around the corner. Deciding not to sit around and wait for him to come home she left home herself and spent the night with relatives. She couldn't put her finger on it, but something just did not feel right. Her heart was extremely heavy and sad for reasons she could not understand. They had argued many times before, but this time something was truly different.

Sunday morning she woke up and went to church. She felt an ache within her soul that she had never experienced before. The pastor preached, and whooped, and hollered. She looked at her watch. It was 1:40 p.m. This man was preaching way too long. She was ready to go! The music was playing, she closed her eyes, and tears streamed down her face. She heard a still, small voice say to her, "You need to go to the altar". She argued in her head with the voice, "No I don't". The voice never raised the level in which it was speaking to her. It told her again, "You need to go to the altar". She again argued, "No I don't." This went on for two or three more rounds when suddenly she felt as if someone literally grabbed her by arm and took her to the altar! She didn't fight anymore. Brokenhearted she became a member of the body of Christ that very
