Making beads out of sand is an easy way to make your own beads. I had to wait until I tried it myself before I wrote this article, so that I could say it was an easy way to do, and I have found that it is.
You need some simple ingredients, such as, sand, elmer's glue, and a container to keep them all in.
Mix the sand and the glue together. Try using 1 cup of sand and only 1/4 of a cup of glue. If it is too wet, you can always add more sand and make it stiffer.
Roll your sand into a ball and take off small beadsized peices. set them on a plate or tray and let them start to harden, but, first you have to poke a hole in the center. I used a nail because everyone else on here said nails were the way to go but, I found that a nail was too big. Instead I used a saftey pin to make sure the hole was small enough, and just moved it around alot in order to make the hole a little bigger.
When you have poked the hole, now it is time to let the beads dry. So put them on a plate or tray and leave them on the counter or perhaps outside, and they will dry within a couple hours. Then you're all set! You can use these beads to make necklaces and braclets that you can give as gifts for mother's day, christmas, or any other holdiay that you can give gifts for. tThey also make great birthday gifts for kids and adults.
