Strange sandwich fillings

My father, this is who I am reminded of when contemplating strange sandwich fillings. However, his sandwiches were more like concoctions. Most of them were alright, some of them were brilliant. But he was forever trying to come up with the next best eat to please his odd palate. Unfortunately, he passed away in 2001, and his creative combinations were then halted in the new and improved department. Nevertheless, he forever gave us, his family, some doozies. The line up please...

Appearing at No.1 (because I love it so much) is the white bread, peanut butter, miracle whip, and potato chip sandwich.

No.2 was his usual late night sandwich of toast, bologna, and strawberry jam. Grape jelly or raspberry preserves were used if strawberry was not available.

No.3 would arguably be No.1 if it were my sister or brother writing this. Their fav, which kinda makes me gag a little, is the grilled cheese slathered in peanut butter and topped by maple syrup.

No.4 has two variations. He endearingly named it another word for poo, on a shingle. Chipped beef or tuna and peas in a cream sauce loaded between two pieces of toast. Funny, I just ate some of this last night, it really is quite satisfying.

And, last but not least, appearing at No.5 is "the bloody pimple." A hot dog slathered in mayo and ketchup with just a few dots of mustard.

Man, it has been years since I've recalled most of these. Now, I feel nostalgic. I guess it just goes to show that strange sandwich fillings can certainly leave a legacy, regardless of the taste!
