Poetry: Secret me

On the outside, to look you'd never
see, the truth of whats inside of
me.

The way I act like nothings wrong,
while the inside, is like a country
song.

Smiling and joking everyday, like
I really feel this way.

The secret me, I tend to hide, is
heartbroken, and has lost her pride.

This mask I'm known to wear around, just
hides my feelings, so they won't be found.

Crying with pain within this shell, this
act has always worked quite well.

If they knew the secret me, I know they'd
be filled with sympathy.

So, I'd just rather they didn't know, so
this front I continue to show.

Life has not been so grand, I've many times,
been dealt an awful hand.

My love life has been a mess, and there's many
things, I choose not to confess.

The secret me, likes things this way.Putting
on a front, like acting in a play.

When I'm in public, I act it out, and people
truly never know, what I'm about.

But when I'm eventually faced with the secret
me, I sit and cry endlessly.

Maybe one day, I'll be the same inside and out,
but for now this secret, must not get out.

    Laugh a minute
