Your article is the must read article on Helium this week. Make sure your reader's know this. Grab their attention. Use the first paragraph to tempt them, to tease them, annoy or intrigue them. But never, ever bore them.
Reading web pages is difficult and uncomfortable. People read 25 percent slower compared to printed material. Helium is where knowledge rules. Readers come here for knowledge and they want it served up immediately. Articles written for Helium should be as compact as possible, ruthlessly purged of all unnecessary words. The title is already on the page. There is no need to repeat it.
When you ask a question face to face, some people will repeat it back to you. This is because they are considering the question. The answer will be better for the time spent in thinking. There should no need for this with a written answer. It gives the impression of lack of planning and undermines the authority of the article.
Remember:
* Internet readers have short attention spans, brevity is important.
* Use the fist paragraph to grab your reader's attention
* The title is already on the page, no need to repeat it.
* Repeating it suggests lack of planning, it undermines authority
