Mastering difficulties to achieve personal success

IF you were to define 'difficult' as "something different that is happening to you now", it does not stagnate long enough to cause you worry. People are creatures of habit. Familiarity breeds a sense that everything is flowing but it is the little twist and turns that gives you the choice of reflection and decision.

Have I had a 'difficult life? I mean....to be talking here about Mastering difficult? I have never been pessimistic about the dynamics that maketh life. Neither do I accept the concept of unchanging 'fate'. I enjoy periodical meditation or centered-oriented retreats in quiet places (within my heart, if I cannot afford a comfortable physical realm) but I avoid telling myself that I have resigned to my fate.

What is this 'difficult' part? A demanding boy-or girlfriend? An unhappy close family member? Things not going my way.......if you have more than you can handle then you are trying to manage too much all at once. Break your 'difficulties' into manageable portions. Prioritize them - how soon you want this solved. There are times when I try and solve two or three 'difficulties' together. It can be done. As for those huge life issues - I ask myself, can I do anything about it now? Mainly, am I the only factor that is causing this? Or there are (and there often is...) many external factors. Okay - I'll modify my role that is part of the cause of this problem and see how that reverberates on this difficult thing. Something is bound to change. Be patient.

If contracting a kind of chronic disease was the 'difficult' thing. This is probably the toughest. From my spiritual tradition, we practice the essence of 'impermanence', of seeing everything as a passing fad (even life itself). Meditation can cut through the bonds of suffering even physical pain due to illnesses. Have you ever notice how insignificantly immeasurably tiny our whole solar system is when viewing the flow of the great milky way. Yet, we know our consciousness is expansive - over the entire milky way and beyond. The phenomenal and physical spaces are ultimately quite small. It is our expansive consciousness, our compassionate being, our loving-kindness that is boundless. And in it, there is no difficulty, not even the 'master'.
