In HINDUISM ,HANUMAN is a vanara who aided Rama{an avatar of vishnu}in rescuing his wife,sita,from rakshasa king Ravana.He symbolizes in the pinnacle of bhakti,and also seen to be the avatar of Lord Shiva.He is more wee known as son of Vayudeva{wind god}.He is believed by some scholars to be source for the chinese mythological character Sun Wukong.

HANUMAN epitomizes virtue,strength,humility,siddi ,and corage.while outsiders might find it odd to workship "a monkey" as GOD,for Hindus,the idea to worship the astoundingely righteous attributes represented by HANUMAN that even most human find hard to practice,such as Brahmacharya and Bhakti.

He is symbolizes in Hinduism for his unwavering dedication to righteousness,unstinting performance of entrusted duties,and unfailing talents in serving his master Rama.He is given the role of guru in several south Indian Traditions ,for his uniting rama with sita .

HANUMAN BIRTH:Hanuman is born in Treta Yuga as the son of ANJANA{so hanuman also called ANJANEYA}and KESARI.one day anjana was on mountain peak,vayu{wind}generated a forceful blow of air,and her clothes slipped of her body.vayu was incited by her charm and possessed her,with her consent.she thus gave birth to HANUMAN also known as VAYU-PUTRA{son of wind}.

HANUMAN -CHILDHOOD:He inherited the qualities of his father such as quick flying,forceful travel,and mighty strength.soon after birth he saw the SUN,thought it to be a ripe fruitand took flight to catch hold of the sun to eat.INDRA,the King of GODS hurled his weapon,the VAJRA{thunderbolt},which struck Hanuman on his cheeks.due to force of VAYUDEVA the INDRA withdrew the effect of vajra ,whic had cut Hanuman's two cheeks,thus he called Hanuman,for HANUHH is sanskrit word for cheek.due to curse of sages ,Hanuman lost the ability to remeber his own might,and only recollected it when others reminded him about it.

HANUMAN-IN RAMAYANA WAR:Sundara Kanda ,the fifth book of epic RAMAYANA ,focuses mainly on the adventures of Hanuman.he lit the LANKA the Kingdom of Ravana .During the war,when Lakshmana,the brother of Rama,is severely wounded,Hanuman was sent to fetch the sanjivani,a powerful life restoring herb to revive him.Hanuman was unable to find the herb before nightfall,so he again displayed his prowess by lifting the entire mountain Dronagiri and bringing it to the battle field.in another incident during the war,Rama and Lakshmanaare captured by Mahiravana{also called Ahiravana},HANUMAN reached there and discovered that he had to extinguish five lamps at once to kill Mahiravana .Hanuman took the PANCHAMUKA{pancha-five mukha-faced}from with faces of varsha,narasimha,garuda,hayagr iva,and his own ,and blew out the lamps.Thus killing Mahiravana ,Hanuman rescued Rama and Lakshmana.took major part in bringing Sita to Rama by killing Ravana.

HANUMAN-AFTER THE RAMAYANA WAR:Hanuman requested to remain on earth for as long as Rama's name is venerated by people,sita accorded the Hanuman that wish,and granted that his image will be installed at various public places,so he could listen to people chanting Rama's name.He is thus one of the chiranjeevis{immortals} in Hinduism.

THUS WHEREVER THE DEEDS OF SRIRAMA ARE SUNG,AT ALL SUCH PLACES DOES HANUMAN CRY TEARS OF DEVOTION AND JOY,AT ALL SUCH PLACES DOES HIS PRESENCE REMOVE THE FEAR OF DEMONS.
