Competing with the Xbox live and the Playstation network, the Nintendo wii's virtual console is Nintendo's answer to the rival's internet based games. The titles of the virtual console consist of a mix of old school classics and Nintendo favorites. So without further adieu is the best games that the Nintendo wii has to offer and available to purchase on the wii system.

1.) Ninja Gaiden 2: The dark sword of Chaos. The story features a large contingent of ninjas and does things that even surpass what sequel titles fail to do; surpass the original. The main character is Ryu Hayabusa, ninja who must of course destroy the sword of chaos. Your ninja moves include the flam ming fire wheel and the windmill throwing star to defeat you enemies. The game is reminsent of all the classic hack and slash games of the past. A game that is an adventure filled story with confrontational boss battles abound.

2.) The next game available on the wii virtual console is Nintendo's most famous brand name and mascot; Mario and his game Mario's super picross. The games are yet again another sequel that surpasses the original which is Mario's picross. The game is a puzzle as you navigate through certain puzzle games such as Dr. Mario or Tetris. In Mario's super picross, the puzzles start small then expand to twenty. There are modes in the game where you can play as either Mario or Wario. As for the soundtrack of Mario's supercross, the songs have expanded to an even set for each mode. All of the puzzles in Mario's supercross come around at a total of two hundred eighty puzzles; so there is a lot of time to play supercross. In short, Mario's supercross is a fine edition to the Mario gaming universe and a great game that is available in the wii virtual console.

3.) Finally the third best game available in the wii virtual console is R type. The space shoots em up style game where the gamesplay must be meticulous for you to defeat the evil Bydo Empire. The game play for R Type is unlike anything most shoot em ups are intended to play. For one the levels are you known nemesis and your gun is so small. Thus, the shots fired must equal to a giant burst of energy to have impact and substantial damage to you enemies. All levels of the game are eight and feature a big boss battle at the end. With time, the accuracy of the game play will improve and much of the space battles in the end will be easier. Overall, a great game classic that takes advantage of the wii mote and virtual console.
