Reflections: Growing old

Thinking back, I remember when I first laid eyes on her. A cute little baby girl. Wanting to live in this moment forever. Remembering her first words, smile, laugh. Watching her learn to crawl, then to walk.
Listening to her as she learns to talk in complete sentences. Waking up to her starting kindergarten, not wanting her to grow up. Just wanting to keep her in my arms and protect her.

Remembering her first friends. How excited she was! In a blink of an eye she is starting middle school. Where did the time go?
Thinking back to when I was younger I was so care free. I never thought about getting older "That was a long time off", Now, I am married with children and there are times when I wish I could freeze my life and live here for a long time. I know growing older is a part of life. But sometimes I just don't want a particular day to end. To just be able to enjoy our children a little longer experiencing their first word or first trip or whatever first it may be.
There are days when I can't believe that I am older and not in my early twenties. I wonder where has the time gone? Have I made the most of the time I did have? Why do we have to continue on to the next day and the next, can't we just enjoy this moment in time just a little longer?
Hoping that I won't forget these wonderful days as I continue to grow older. Hoping I will forever remember to cherish each day, and never forget to live in the moment. For tomorrow she will be starting high school, learning to drive, going to college and living her life.
