I thought, "I've been in school for four years. I'm ready to make some money while finishing grad school." Now, I'd give anything to be just the struggling college student instead of the working-full-time-still-strugg ling-college-student. Our impatience often misconstrues good decisions. Many careers are not sympathetic to the graduate student for many reasons. For one, people are often envious that they didn't finish school with a master's degree. Most careers are also much more demanding than the jobs that we hold while in school. So, the question is what should you do, right? Well, if you can hold out until you finish graduate school, do it. Think about the bills that you already have, take the money you will make at the new career, subtract those bills and add the cost of graduate school. You'll probably see that you'll be in the same situation as you are now, so you might as well enjoy your youth just a little while longer before jumping in the deep end. However, if you can't hold out and you've just got to start making "real" money, get ready for sleepness nights (not from partying) and throbbing feet. Besides, money is real no matter if it comes in a pretty white state envelope or from tips at the local diner.
