You might not believe it, but boy, do you have it easy.

While your date is trying to figure out how to coordinate her shoes, dress, clutch, nails, hair and corsage, all you need to do is figure out what style of suit you should wear. If you haven't already figured it out, your date will not be secretly thrilled when she opens the door and you're wearing a brown suit ala Napoleon Dynamite.

If you're looking to impress your date, take a look at four cinematic icons.

James Bond: nothing says sexiness like Bond's iconic tuxedo. If you're looking to go turn quite a few heads at the prom, take yourself to the nearest tux shop. This will compliment any dress that your date might wear.

Neo: embrace your cyber-geek and get a longer suit jacket. Paired with the right shades and the right technology, you'll have your date swooning. Just make sure you run your suit choice by your date first. This might be harder to pair.

The Thin Man: I know you're scratching your head on this one. But think of tailored suits that show off your dapper side ala Jude Law. This would be the perfect option if you are going for a 20's theme.

Danny Ocean and Crew: If you have ever watched any of the "Ocean" movies, you have seen great style for men. If you try to copy George, Matt or Brad, you're pretty much guaranteed to ooze sophistication.

To sum it all up, watch your favorite movie that involves men in suits. Hey, it could even be "Men in Black", it really doesn't matter. If you and your date both agree the guy is styling, go for it. Just please, no matter what your friends say, do not get the brown suit from Goodwill. It's there for a reason.
